![]() We are missionaries with the Christian and Missionary Alliance since 1994. Rich was born to missionary parents in Quito Ecuador. I was born to Canadian Missionaries in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We first met in Quito when we were 17. We started dating a year later and married in 1990. Rich worked as a soccer coach at Truett-McConnell College and I worked in admissions at Toccoa Falls College where we had both graduated. The first church ministry was with youth at North Ridge Church in Raleigh North Carolina where our first daughter Olivia Shannon was born and our love for youth ministry started. After three and a half years in Raleigh, we moved to Wheaton, where Rich finished his Masters degree in Biblical Studies in Theology at Wheaton Graduate School. ![]() After the best four months ever brushing up on our Spanish in Costa Rica, and trying out many beaches, we moved to Lima, Peru and worked in the Los Olivos Church with the “adolescent” group. Because of Gods amazing work in Peru, the group grew from 7 to 70 in one year. Our own family grew as Michaela Raleigh was born. A wonderful Peruvian Pastor took over and we moved eight hours up the coast of Peru to Trujillo. When we arrived we worked with an incredible pastoral team in the only Alliance church in Trujillo. After eight great years the Alliance Missionaries in Peru left to go to countries in Latin America that needed more help. We left the church in the strong capable hands of the National church. We also added another addition to our family, our son Josiah Daniel. Alexa Rayne was born three years later. As we left, Trujillo had four Alliance churches and over one thousand youth in these churches. It was really hard to leave! Now, after a year in the United States, we are back to a very
familiar place “Quito”. We have more of a regional ministry where
“we exist to identify, connect and train high capacity youth leaders in
Ecuador, Peru and Columbia to multiply their impact.” We have also started
Inca Link which purpose is to connect North America and South America and to
work together in compassion and construction ministries. We have felt along
with our Peruvian youth group a special burden for the garbage dump on the outskirts
of Trujillo. |
