The summer is over and there are no teams or interns, but what a wonderful summer is was! I still communicate with my interns through the internet and it’s great to hear how they are adjusting back to school or work, yet still remembering the people that impacted them in Peru, and most importantly: producing fruit.
Inca Link, the organization I am a part of, had their biennial retreat. Everyone from the States, Columbia, Ecuador, and Peru come together to talk about the things that God has done and also discuss about how we are going to move forward. The two themes were making disciple-makers and our vision and goals as a ministry. What a blessed time it was, in which Christ brought unity to us.
At Elim, we were able to bless each mom with a bag full of clothing (thanks for your donations). Also, we took the Elim team out to eat at a nice Chinese restaurant, which was a great way to say thanks to our volunteers that have been giving their time and helping us out each week.
The two women, Isabel and Celestina, that got the eye surgery are now fully recovered, praise the Lord! Now we are helping a woman named Reina. She has been coming to the program ever since it started three years ago, even thought the class was only children! She has severe arthritis, so we took her to the doctor and got an exam. She has been prescribed medication and a week after taking it, there was a very distinct change in how she walked and wrote, praise the Lord!! We will continue to help her in any way that we can.
I’ve been studying Matthew 5 and verses 22, 28, 32, 34, 39, 44 all say, “But I say to you:” (Jesus speaking). Laws are important, but it’s about the heart. Are we trying to get around the law or do we delight in them?
Psalm 40:8 – I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.
Psalm 119:16 – I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.
Psalm 119:47 – for I find my delight in your commandments, which I love.
Thanks for reading and for your prayers.
