This past weekend, we had a medical campaign at Elim. The team had been planning this event for more than a month and it is incredible how the Lord worked everything out for His perfect will.

We were supposed to have some doctors from the states come down this summer, but things fell through and we thought we were not going to have this campaign, but a woman came to us and told us that she knew some doctors and wanted to put on a medical campaign. Wow, I love how God works things out!

So with much planning, asking for donations, medical campaign visiting people, confirming appointments, preparing Elim, renting equipment, buying materials, handing out flyers, praying, meeting, and so-on, we had the event. There were many things that got denied, were turned down, and didn’t show up, but we realized that God had a reason for that. For example, we had this awesome program planned out for the children, but it fell through. Why? We don’t know the exact reason, but what we do know is that the children were busy going to the different doctors and we wouldn’t have had time to do the program. And the Lord sent some people to help us entertain the children when we needed it. Wow, I love how God works thing out.

We had 11 professionals come out: pediatrics, nutritionists, dentists, general medicine, doctors, nurses, and psychologist. With all their help, we had 6 stations: sign-up/general health, nutrition, dental, psychology, pediatric, and general medicine. We had 124 children and adults go through this process and we could have done so many more, so we are learning for the next time God wants us to do a medical campaign. We also had more than 20 people volunteering from our team and other people from the church that wanted to help out.

a medical campaignIt was an incredible afternoon and we are so thankful that a pastor was able to preach a sermon about health and healing. James 5:14&15 were some verses that impacted us for this event: “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.”
