The summer has com11760173_1638045199772299_1246371735230781844_ne and gone and we have said our goodbyes to the teams and interns. Each group brought something special with them this summer and the memories and experiences we had will last a lifetime.

A prayer request has recently been answered after many years of praying…and walking. The Lord blessed us with a mini-van, something that is more than we could have ever asked or imagined. An obvious celebration is in store, but I want to talk about a word: hope. I’ve never experienced this word before, I’ve read it in the Bible many times and heard it almost everyday, but I never could really explain it with a life experience. Almost every time I we      nt to Elim, I walked 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back. It was not too bad, I actually got used to it, but I always have desired to have transportation. When the opportunity came to buy this used mini-van, I started to count down the days. And every time I walked to and from Elim, I walked with a HUGE smile on my face because that walk might be the last one. The purchase was delayed more than a month, but every time I walked, I had a hope, hope that I would soon be driving a van instead of walking, which is a human experience that cannot compare to our eternal hope of a life with Jesus Christ. But I finally understood what hope means, and now I can endure hardships, persecutions, and trials with a smile on my face, because I KNOW where I will be for eternity.

July 28 is Peru’s Independence Day and to celebrate we had an Inca Link ministries party. We had sports competitions, food, singing, a devotional, clothing donations, and other little activities to celebrate the day together.11219660_10205656222978958_1991101138374624705_n

And in the middle of all activities, Steph and I got to sneak away for a couple of days to go to a city called Cajamarca, a city in the mountains that is full of history and dairy products!

11694796_984891050411_5407205696496243700_nMonica and Steph have been teaching an extra discipleship class on Fridays, while their moms make bracelets. They have studied the Old and New Testament and memorized all the books of the Bible, so as a treat, we went out to the botanical garden and then for ice cream.

Things are moving along quickly at Elim and we are thankful and give God all the glory. We are looking for another property closer to the highway, where the majority of our students live. Praise the Lord we already received a large donation for the purchase of it!
Also, we are in the beginning stages of planting a church near Elim. Please keep this in your prayers.

If you would like to come down October 11-21, please contact me. 11148503_1648978082012344_7578553348270148488_n
